Attempted Armed Robbery at a local general store in Salmo BC

RCMP are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a local general store in Salmo BC

TMTV.NET (RCMP NEWS) On February 26, 2016 at approximately 6:45 PM Salmo RCMP responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at Piper’s General Store located at 701 Glendale Ave., Salmo BC. An unknown male carrying what appeared to be a black handgun entered the store, pointed the gun at the female employee and told her to hand over her cash after he placed a bag on the counter.

The interaction ended with the male fleeing the store on foot with no money. No shots were fired and no one was injured. Police attended within a few minutes and a dog track was initiated which ended unsuccessfully. The suspect male was wearing a dark navy colored zip up hoody with white pin stripes down the sleeves. His head was covered by the hood and a full face mask. The suspect is still at large and the investigation is ongoing.
