Woman visiting from England injured in snowmobile accident near Golden

On March 31, 2016 at 1:30 pm the Golden-Field RCMP were advised that a female snowmobiler was injured while on a snowmobiling tour in the Hospital Creek area, near Golden, BC.

TEAMWORK MEDIA TV INC. – (RCMP) The initial report received was that a female had struck a tree while snowmobiling, and required immediate medical attention, says Cst. Spencer LAINCHBURY, spokesperson for the Golden-Field RCMP.

Police immediately activated Golden & District Search & Rescue (GADSAR) who flew in to the area by helicopter. The female, a 49 year-old from England, was flown back to Golden where she was then transferred by BC Ambulance to the Golden & District General Hospital, and is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

This is another great example of all of our emergency services groups working together, says Cst. LAINCHBURY. It’s been a busy season for all of us and we are truly thankful for all the hard work that our partners do to ensure that our community and its visitors are safe.
