Search & Rescue: Back country skier injured near Golden

On March 30, 2017 just before 1:00 pm (MST), the Golden-Field RCMP received three separate notifications, including an emergency beacon activation, that Search & Rescue was required at Old Man Drainage, in the backcountry near Donald, BC.

Police immediately activated Golden & District Search & Rescue (GADSAR), who flew in to the area by helicopter.

At this time we can confirm that a 33 year old male from Golden was skiing and sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries after colliding with a tree, says Cst. Spencer Lainchbury with the Golden-Field RCMP.

The male was flown back to Golden where he received further medical treatment.
