The Osprey Ferry experienced a mechanical problem at approximately 9:00 am this morning which has caused a large amount of what TMTV News has been told is gear oil to leak into Kootenay Lake at the Balfour Ferry Landing.
TMTV NEWS Balfour BC – The ferry is currently out of service and the lower capacity Balfour Ferry has taken it’s place.
The amount of oil that has been spilled into Kootenay Lake is not known at this time. Balfour Fire Department is on scene and BC Ministry of Environment has been notified.
