Male arrested after vehicle stolen from business in Golden

A 24 year old male from Calgary was arrested in Banff on May 3 after police allege that he was found in a pickup truck that had been stolen from a business in Golden earlier that day.

The Golden-Field RCMP had been notified of the theft just after 1:00 pm, and began working on locating the vehicle.

With the help of the owner we were able to track the pickup truck travelling east on the Trans-Canada Highway, says Cst. Spencer Lainchbury with the Golden-Field RCMP. We immediately notified neighbouring RCMP Detachments, and the vehicle was then spotted and stopped by the Banff RCMP.

The Golden-Field RCMP will continue to work with the Banff RCMP with relation to charges.

Police would like to remind vehicle owners to never leave your vehicle unsecured, and always make sure that keys and other valuables are removed from inside the vehicle.
