Nelson Police deal with commercial break-ins and arrest an aggressive panhandler

The Nelson Police Department had received several calls related to the described male and it was determined that the male was in breach of his Probation Order. 

Commercial break and enters in Nelson

On 17/06/13 at approximately 0347 hours, the Nelson Police Department received a call for service for a commercial break and enter that occurred on Baker Street.  Upon police arrival, it was determined that three businesses in the same complex had been broken into and various items had been removed.

Police are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact the Nelson Police Department at 250-354-3919 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

UPDATE: Arrest made for break and enters on Baker Street in Nelson –  On 17/06/19 at approximately 1600 hours, the Nelson Police Department arrested a male for all three incidents.  The male is known to police to be transient and is not a Nelson resident having only being in the Nelson area for the past few months. 

Police arrest aggressive panhandler

On 17/06/13 at approximately 0930 hours, the Nelson Police Department received a call for service regarding an aggressive panhandler in the downtown area.  The Nelson Police Department had received several calls related to the described male and it was determined that the male was in breach of his Probation Order.  The male, who is known to police and has a history of aggressive panhandling was located and arrested for breaching his Probation Order.  The male was held in custody for a bail hearing to occur on 17/06/14 and are recommending three counts of Breach of Probation.
