The Regional District of Central Kootenay has issued an evacuation alert between Sitkum Creek and Crescent Bay, as a precautionary measure.

This fire did not experience any significant growth overnight. This fire has received between 20-25mm of precipitation in the past two days.  Additional crews are on route.

KOKANEE CREEK WILDFIRE
The weather has been extremely helpful in suppressing the fire with the recent 22-25 mm of rain.  BC Wildfire reports that air and ground crews continue with their attack.

At this time the Evacuation Alerts for 135 residents remains in place as a precautionary measure with no new alerts to report.

MCCORMICK CREEK WILDFIRE
BC Wildfire reports that the fire is 40% contained on the Salmo River/Pend D’Oreille side. Crews continue to work to suppress the fire.

No structures have been lost.

Highway 6NS remains closed in both directions from BC and Washington border to Junction with Highway 3 (10.4 km) Detour via Highway 3 Salmo-Creston.  The Nelway Border crossing is currently closed.

All Evacuation Alerts and Orders remain in place with no new alerts to report.

HARROP CREEK WILDFIRE
BC Wildfire reports fire received 22-25 mm of rain and that suppression efforts continue to remain successful.

KOKANEE CREEK WILDFIRE
Approximate size: 89 hectares
BC Wildfire reports that the Kokanee Creek wildfire has not had any significant growth overnight and is currently being supressed by air crews and with a ground crew of 20 firefighters.
The Evacuation Alerts for 135 residents remains in place with no new alerts to report.

MCCORMICK CREEK WILDFIRE
Approximate size: 350 hectares
BC Wildfire reports that this wildfire remains on the south side of the Salmo River.  The RDCK Structural Protection Unit remains in the area with 40 firefighters.
All Evacuation Alerts and Orders remain in place with no new alerts to report.

HARROP CREEK WILDFIRE
Approximate size: 2100 hectares
BC Wildfire reports continued attack but no significant growth to date.
