59 year old Grand Forks man dies in crash

(RCMP) Investigators with the Grand Forks RCMP and RCMP West Kootenay Traffic Services attended to a fatal collision on Hwy 3 near Grand Forks on Thursday morning.

On Tuesday September 21, 2017 at approximately 10:40 am, the Grand Forks RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 3, 15 kilometers West of Grand Forks, BC. Upon attending the location, investigators determined that an Eastbound vehicle, a 2000 Ford Windstar crossed the center line and drove into the North ditch.

The Ford Windstar was being driven by a 59 year old Grand Forks man, who was accompanied by a 56 year old woman from Grand Forks. The driver was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries. The passenger sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Boundary Hospital.

RCMP investigators with the RCMP West Kootenay Traffic in conjunction with the BC Coroner’s Service will be working together to determine the cause of the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP West Kootenay Traffic Services at 250-354-5180.
