TRAIL BC RCMP NEWS – Drug arrest and Rescue from Columbia River

A 60 year old female was taken into custody and
has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a controlled substance and 18 year old female was rescued by Regional Fire personnel

On September 22, 2017 the Trail Crime Reduction Unit and the Kootenay Boundary Regional General Investigation Section executed a search warrant granted under the authority of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in Columbia Heights in Trail. A 60 year old female was taken into custody and
has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a controlled substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and 3 counts of breach of undertaking. The accused has been remanded in custody until October 5, 2017 when she will make her next court appearance.

WOMAN RESCUED AFTER WALKING INTO THE COLUMBIA RIVER

On September 2 7, 201 7 the Trail & Greater District RCMP responded to a complaint of a woman with mental health issues who had walked into the Columbia river at the Gyro park area in Trail.

The 18 year old female was rescued by Regional Fire personnel who located the female with their rescue boat in the rock island area of
the Columbia river.

The female was rescued at approximately 1 a.m. and the Regional Fire personnel and responding RCMP members should be commended for their quick and professional response to a very dangerous situation. The Columbia river can be a challenging water body to navigate during a sunny day. The Fire Rescue personnel navigated a river boat in darkness and were able to locate the female and rescue her.
