Nelson Air Cadets view Nelson from the Air

On Saturday, October 14th 2017, the cadets from 561 Nelson Osprey Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets went flying over Nelson and area. The cadets were flown in 2 Cessna 172 aircraft.

Also, the cadets had a look inside the Kootenay Valley Helicopters hanger.

Aviation experience is one of the unique the activities of the Air Cadet Program. During the year, the cadets have several chances to experience flight. The cadets can also work towards their pilot’s licence in the cadet program.  Every summer, approximately 35 cadets in BC earn their Private Pilot Licence, and another 50 earn their Glider Pilot Licence.

Nelson Air Cadets meet at 6:15 pm every Wednesday at the Nelson Eagles Hall at 641 Baker Street.

The squadron always welcomes new cadets who are between the ages of 12 and 18.

Adults who would like to volunteer with squadron are also welcome.
