Wildfire closes Highway 3 in both directions

Highway 3 is closed from Coleman to the British Columbia border due to a fire in the area which has resulted in near zero visibility in smoke. Expect major delays.

At this time there is no ETA on when the Highway will be open. Steps are being taken to hold traffic in Sparwood until the Highway is reopened.

Forest Fire

Culvert Repair Hwy 3 and Jim Smith Creek

On Wednesday October 17th, 2017, Mainroad will be executing single lane alternating traffic at the Jim Smith Box Culvert Job site on Crows Nest Hwy 3 in Cranbrook.

Single lane alternating traffic will take place between approx. 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.  By approximately 6:00 pm we are aiming to have two-way traffic safely in effect.

We will keep the delays as short as possible so to limit traffic congestion through the work site.

Our 24 hour communications centre will pass on all your observations and concerns to our crews when contacted.
