Snowfall warning in effect for: Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass & Highway 1 Trans-Canada Highway – Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass
Another fall storm is approaching the Interior today. Light snow over southern highway passes will start late this morning and become heavier this afternoon. Over Kootenay Pass snow will change to rain after midnight, while snow over Rogers Pass could persist into Sunday morning. Total snow accumulations up to 20 cm are expected before the snow changes to rain.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
ShiftIntoWinter.ca reminds drivers to know before you go. Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.
