(Submitted) – CP Holiday Train 2017 and Creston Valley Gleaners Society Food Bank Drive were greeted with a cold morning on 12th December as the train arrived along side Millennium Park.
Creston Lions had the honor to assist – handing out treats and giveaways celebrating Canada’s 150th prior to the holiday train arriving.
The CP Holiday Train was 30 minutes late – one young 6 year old boy said to me, “I know why the train is late – they left without Santa in Cranbrook and had to go back to get him!”
Creston DQ Grill & Chill Restaurant was kept busy serving wonderful tasting and warming hot chocolate and coffee to the crowd.
Gleaners Workers were busy receiving cash donations and healthy food donations to support our Creston Valley Gleaners Food Bank for families in need.
Alan Doyle & The Beautiful Band were amazing! They had everyone singin’ n ‘ dancin’!
We, wish to thank The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train for including Creston in their Canada 150 Tour.
Thanks to all the volunteers who made this a memorable day, thank you to Creston residents for your donations.
