Truck and snowmobiles stolen, one man arrested, Cranbrook police search for a second suspect

Cranbrook RCMP arrested one man who is now in custody and they are searching for another after an F350 pickup truck with two snowmobiles was stolen outside a business in Cranbrook BC on Saturday.

TMTV.NET – The owner of the truck called police that they had followed the truck for some distance and then lost sight of it.

RCMP caught up with the truck in Moyie BC and one male occupant attempting to flee. RCMP arrested the driver who is now in custody.

Police arrested 37-year-old Christopher Al Mathews, of Beaverdell BC.

Mathews has been charged with Theft Over $5,000 and Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000. He will be remanded in custody until February 13 when he will appear before the a judge.

RCMP continued to investigate, and found a second vehicle abandoned at the Eagles Nest Resort that is also believed to be involved in the incident

This vehicle was also stolen from a dealership in Kelowna earlier in the month.

The RCMP is continuing the investigation and believes arrests will be made.
